The French are frying over this pick The White Ribbon, shot in black and white over the french film The Prophet which is supposed to be damn good.
I love Holocaust and Nazi killing Jews flicks and can’t wait to see this one. But maybe the French were mad precisely because there have been so many such films made recently. But these flicks don’t always get recognized ala Schindler’s List or Diary of Anne Frank.
I would love to make a film set just before the war when the Nazis were setting their pograms against Jews set in a Jewish Ghetto. Mostly highlighting their life before death. But I tell you Heloise has seen every darn Jewish film made through Netflix and one of the best was Sophie Schol final days, and All My Loved Ones, because they gave us a look at the other side.
