Why there’s still room for the Dow to zoom
I had a horse in the race when the Dow went into freefall in 2008. I just couldn’t sleep at night because I had a lot of money on the table. So I would get up in the middle of the night and watch my stocks. Finally, had enough and sold out all my positions. I warned a few folks too that the market was about to go into freefall.
How did I know? I am not sure. But boy was I right. Some of those stocks have never recovered especially some of the tech stocks on the Nasdaq. I had lots of tech stocks and some bank stocks that went to zero.
One in particular was bought up by JPMorgan and I 10 shares based on the amount I lost and the JPM hit 50.00 and I sold that shit before you could say JPM. That stock has never returned to 50 but is close now. When it was down to 25 I should have bought a boatload because it also pays a dividend.
My new tack is that I buy a little bit of everything and my present positions I can hold for a year or more because I don’t have the same amout of money on the table. And it seemed that the dump in May plan was in place but hell nobody told me.
So there I was in California and the freefall in the banking began. The stock I owned in that bank went to nothing, forgot the name but like I said JPM bought it and I got 500 dollars for what I am sure I did not spend on the defunct stock.
I like bank and tech stocks. Call me crazy. I have BIDU stock now and I recall when it was worth 300/share. I should have bought it when I saw it for 100 but I have a few shares and hopefully they will grow. There is still lots of room for the Dow to zoom higher to 1400 eventually.

The Whitewashing of Arizona
There is a community of Arizonans who live in constant anxiety. They worry that their neighbors want to persecute them. They feel surrounded by hostile strangers. They believe that public opinion and public institutions have been mobilized to undermine their place in society.
These anxious, beleaguered Arizonans aren't undocumented Mexican immigrants. They are the white politicians who enacted the anti-immigrant "attrition" law now under review by the Supreme Court.
Why We Should Worry About Spain's Economic Pain
Reblogged from Business & Money:
Two years ago this month I was in Madrid reporting a story on the troubles of the Spanish economy and what they meant for Europe and its debt crisis. And here I am today writing about the troubles of the Spanish economy and what they mean for Europe and its debt crisis. I usually don’t like to repeat myself, but the fact that I am anyway shows just how badly Europe’s strategy for resolving its debt crisis is failing.
Bikaholic: the new mayor–who knew?
I just found out that the new mayor Betsy Price that I did not vote for is a pure-D bikaholic just like me.
She has meetings on bike trails riding bikes. I love it. Bikes, just the sight of them and watching people ride them really makes my heart happy. There is nothing like it.
Cool, Calm and Collected advice to Obama
You can be tough as well as cool, calm and collected as Heloise is when confronted with crazy people. Why just the other day Heloise proved to be just that, i.e., cool not crazy. I was shopping when a big black woman tried to squeeze by my shopping cart at Wal Mart where I was standing (to the right) and waiting for my daughter to pay for her items.
She said “excuse me.” I said “I ain’t moving.” She got ugly and started to push past me but realized she was too fat. She said “I said EXCUSE me.” Well the only time that’s appropriate is if we both got to the same spot at the same time. This was clearly not the case…I was there first and not in the way of traffic. I think the woman with her squeezed by just before. I just ignored her.
Yes, I stood my ground and said walking is like driving you should stay to your right. She got really mad. That’s how you can tell you’re right.
She said some crap I could not hear because I don’t hear too well anymore. My daughter said she said something like she would sweep the floor up with me. But I no hear her and that’s a good thing. That helped me to remain cool and carry on.
Then another day I was shopping wearing baggy unpressed shorts and an unpressed red T shirt with a black sun visor that said “Chicago” on it and a bright blue fanny pack and my big floppy bike riding sandals.
This old white woman asked a couple of times, I didn’t hear her and was not listening “do you work here?” Cool as you could be I gave her a good look at my whole outfit and said “do I look like I work HERE?” She said oh I am so sorry. What she saw was my BROWN skin! Liar.
Advice to Obama you too can remain cool, calm and collected if you act like you did not hear half of what people say about you.

Reblogged from The Daley Gator:
Hey Kimosabi.
Far left Democrat Elizabeth Warren claimed she was a native American at Harvard for years. She’s not.
The Boston Herald reported:
Elizabeth Warren said she had no idea until she read the Herald today her Native American heritage was touted by Harvard Law School as proof of their faculty’s diversity in the 1990s - a fact her rival wants her to apologize for.
