Gore Vidal dead at 86 from pneumonia

Gore Vidal that publicly gay author, writer, playwright and smart ass has died at 86. He traded barbs with the best of the best from the old conservative TV days of Buckley and the rest. Many don’t know him because he was from the old school but a part of the avant garde nonetheless. He will be known as an in-law of Jackie Kennedy I mean relative by marriage of mother they are not blood relatives.
Gore is also related to Al Gore some kinda way too. Gore Vidal was Jewish and Al Gore is also part Jewish and both were from political junkies who made it in politics but never to the presidency. Speaking of president Gore did know JFK and once famously noted that Jack had a “great ass.” He would notice that, oh boy.
Anyway it bon voyage to Gore Vidal who was one of the most famous gay men in American history.

Where is Gavin Smith? Hollywood Exec missing
The mystery of what happened to Hollywood executive Gavin Smith began last week, when Smith was staying at a friend’s house and drove off, without a word, in his black Mercedes around 10 p.m. and never came back.
Smith, 57, was reported missing by his wife on Wednesday morning when he failed to pick up his son to take him to school and then did not call into work or his family. Smith’s wife, children, and sister told ABC News that the former UCLA basketball star and 20th Century Fox movie executive would never abandon his family.

Zimmerman’s contention all along has been that Martin was bashing his head against the pavement, which is why he was forced to shoot him. The media – especially ABC News — initially attempted to discount that story completely, releasing video of his booking at the Sanford police station that were not well-pixellated, and thus did not show the gashes on the back of his head. It took several days for ABC News to release an enhanced version of the video that showed that there were gashes on Zimmerman’s head. In the meantime, the media had a field day reporting that Zimmerman had shot Martin essentially in cold blood; Martin’s family claimed that Zimmerman was not injured; members of Congress, without any evidence, attempted to pass a resolution labeling the killing a racially-motivated crime.
ABC News reports that the source of the new photo was a witness to the aftermath of the event, and that Zimmerman asked the source to call his wife for him after the shooting.
Well, as I predicted he has a good case and a chance in Florida to go scott free. They were in a big scuffle and somebody screamed.

Inspiring recent book titles

Two new books are out Greedy Bastards Dylan Ratigan. And Throw Them All Out by Peter Swiezer. You can read first chapter of the latter book if you can go to amazon.
I read the preview of Throw Them All Out which is a shortened version of what I wrote back when “Throw the bums out.” And it has gotten lots of traction.
Then there’s my phrase “greedy bastards” that I used in a post back in February. We can say stuff like that but most folks on TV the pundit class usually don’t say greedy bastards. Speaking of same Gingrich said “baloney” when you know he wanted to say “Bullshit” when someone attacked one of his positions.

Andrea Mitchell: Where did she get that job?

It’s worse than I thought. Mitchell does not have biracial kids but she was married to a black man at one time. So Alan Greenspan must be her third marriage. She has struck gold and now she is all over MSNBC and of course Morning Jew. Women like her like Giffords remake themselves with bottles of bleach and fancy husbands to fit in with their rich, right, WASP surroundings. It does not work for me. Barbara Walters sucked up the oxygen on TV for decades and finally I had enough and wrote something and in the next few months she retired. I try to watch the news but everytime her face, Mitchell’s, pops up I have to turn it off, delete it or fast forward it. She never knows what the hell she is talking about and because Jewish people have a particular speech impediment because of the Hebrew language and Yiddish can’t quite speak perfect English just like some blacks who have the Gullah influence in their genes will never speak perfect English without a lot of coaching. The number of nepotism employees on TV is over the top. There are way too many who may be journalists but they don’t have to be in your face 24/7 like this woman married to a rich former Jewish fed who ruined the system, made billions and now finally retired. When will America wake up to this giveaway of our culture and monetary system? I mean a Jewish woman represents less than 1% of all women in this country. But make up at least 15% of all the big jobs and anchors on TV and the news. Kate Snow is another one I can’t watch along with this other one who is so ugly I have to fast forward her. I forget her name but she too is a reporter but not an anchor.

We gather Dan Rottenberg did not like Andrea Mitchell‘s new memoir, Talking Back.
In a 1,773-word evisceration in the Broad Street Review Rottenberg accuses the former Philadelphia broadcast reporter of writing in “annoying journalese,” of ignoring her previous marriage and step-children, of glossing over her transformation from plain-Jane brunette to “blonde glamourpuss.” Of basically filtering her memories through a Vaseline-softened lens because she is now married to Washington’s ultimate power icon.
Rottenberg, a former Philadelphia Magazine and Philadelphia Weekly editor, writes in his piece headlined, “The Unexamined Life: Andrea Mitchell rewrites her past:”
To be sure, many of us have old marriages and old personas we’d just as soon forget. But why write a memoir if you won’t confront the past? I suspect that Andrea Mitchell’s life may indeed contain the stuff of drama, and maybe even a movie. But she is not the one to write it. When you’ve spent your life hop-scotching the globe for headline stories in the glare of TV lights, it’s difficult to imagine that the biggest story of all might lurk somewhere inside of you, if only you were inclined to dig for it.
He writes that Mitchell, who is married to former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan, seems “determined to bury” two aspects of her life from Philadelphia, where the Penn grad broke into television with KYW in the late 1960s.
Rottenberg writes:
About her first marriage: In the early ’70s, when I knew her as a fellow parent at Greenfield Elementary School in Center City, Mitchell was married to Gil Jackson, a black man who worked in the public affairs department at Smith, Kline & French (now GlaxoSmithKline) while struggling to launch a career as an independent film producer. An interracial marriage to a man suffering from a very malignant case of multiple sclerosis cannot have been easy for a young Jewish woman barely out of college, yet Mitchell (as far as I could tell) loyally stood by her man while also caring for his two sons from a previous marriage — so conscientiously that I presumed the boys were her own. The marriage broke up shortly before Mitchell left Philadelphia for Washington in 1976, and Jackson subsequently died.

Mark Duggan Biracial Father of Four Killed by London Cops
The London riots–day three in the poorest section of the city over the killing a black man (in this case biracial) because he looked dangerous. Yes, mostly black folks are doing the looting, burning, and rioting in town. But what happened was a truly WTF case if I ever heard one. Where was this man’s gun? What bullets had he fired at the coppers? The London riots over the cold blooded killing continue. They said he was a gun runner or drug dealer what else is new? There are videos, at the sky link below, of coverage and of Mark’s brother speaking about the riots which the family does not condone. The media portrays this as a shootout between Duggan and the cops but that has not been proven and this man is innocent until proven guilty.

Near Death Experience: Just Plain “Beyond Belief”

Why is it that the near death experience seems to come to hardened people who have no interest in spirituality or in meditation or in altered states in the first place? That’s the real question. It’s because they need a bigger jolt to get into those in between states than spiritual seekers.
A long time ago I decided or realized that the NDE just is not real and does not exist and I don’t believe in it nor do I know it to be a truth. In my book I document one person’s memory of her moment of death and it is nothing like what these people talk about. Is death painless? Not really, not the way it is described and experienced by “insiders” whom I trust before I trust someone off the street so to speak.
I am watching Woodruff’s special “Beyond Belief” but it is not informative to me. The same thing repeated that it is a brain function or safety net that happens when a person is undergoing a strong experience or bad one that they are destined to survive. It’s kinda like the drunk who bounces around and does not get hurt yet kills others with his drinking and loss of control. The drunk has surrendered control but those he damages have not. NDE is really the body surrendering control over its functions and that helps it to survive against great odds. They ain’t dead, they did not die and there is no such thing as the NDE.
Meditators have been able to reproduce this state without even trying. It is an in between state at best and just a brain rehersal at worse. The show had on the guy who wrote 90 Minutes in Heaven, a best seller. I didn’t buy it or read it and I ain’t buying it. LOL
This is my experience based on decades of research and meditation into the subject. I think that the NDE is at most a way that the body using the brain heals itself, just like REM sleep, it serves a purpose but it is not the same as dying or near dying. A badly injured person may be near death physically and the body/brain complex steps in to save it. But what they see is NOT the same thing seen and experienced by those who really do cut the cord and leave the body until the next one.

Peter Falk i.e., Columbo Dead at 83

Peter Falk suffered severe alzheimer’s and has died in LA at age 83. He was from East European Jewish stock but was brilliant as Columbo I never missed an episode.
