Hasidic 8-year-old Brooklyn Boy Found Dead and Dismembered—updated
update: The killer cut off the boys feet and they were found in the refrigerator! Can you believe this? But guess what with help from the dentist office the police got this guy 40 minutes after getting the info and went right to his attic apartment. Read updates below.
Wow, such a story just gets sadder and scarier for parents. I lived in Chicago and my kids used to take public transportation to the museum and to school by themselves, the two of them. And we never had any incidents and they never got lost or hurt. But this makes you rethink ever allowing your kids out alone. In my case I knew my kid’s past karma and they had already suffered early death in their most recent life. But most parents don’t know and what you don’t know can’t help you.
The police said it was the boy’s first day of walking from the school by himself. “He’d asked his parents’ permission to walk home alone and the parents were waiting outside” for him to return, Mr. Browne said.
The police retrieved other video showing Leiby walking near a hardware store, several blocks astray from where he was to meet his parents.
Another video showed the boy later several blocks farther astray, standing across the street from a dentist’s office, where the suspect had gone in to pay a bill, Mr. Kelly said. The video showed the boy waiting for seven minutes.
“Detectives located one of the dentists who worked there at his home in New Jersey late last night, and established that the suspect had been in the dentists’ office on Monday to pay a bill,” Mr. Browne said on Wednesday morning. “With the assistance of a receptionist and another dentist associated with the practice, detectives at 2:00 a.m. today found records at the dentist’s office that established the suspect’s name and address. He was apprehended 40 minutes later.”
The killer panicked then killed boy:
They are not sure if he was sexually assaulted but the suspect had been in prison and was free, but why. The link provides a video of two things: the boy walking around the area he was lost (cams) and of the neighbors reacting to the killing. The crime rate there has been around 0 until this killing. I am not buying that one though.
Mr. Kelly said that the boy was lost and apparently was trying to find his way when he encountered Mr. Aron; investigators said that after a conversation, the boy entered Mr. Aron’s vehicle, a 1990 Honda Accord.
The suspect had told investigators that he panicked and killed the boy once he realized the extent to which the Hasidic community and the police had mobilized to find the child, Mr. Kelly said. The commissioner said that the police had no evidence that the child had been sexually abused, but that detectives were still investigating.
The alleged killer led police to the boy’s body. Could he be another Jeffery Dahmer? Are there more Jewish boys, more bodies out there that he is hiding? Usually these types of crimes also accompany sexual sport of some sort. When they find all the parts of the boy’s body perhaps they can piece together what happened. The person of interest in this case said he smothered the boy first then cut up his body and put it in various places. You can see watch a video and see a photo Levi Aron.
Police made the gruesome discovery after raiding a Kensington home and arresting 35-year-old Levi Aron (Jewish), who led them to parts of missing boy Leibby Kletsky’s (Jewish/Hasidic) body, stuffed in a red suitcase and hidden in a Dumpster outside an auto repair shop about two miles away, NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly said during a news conference this morning.
“This is every parents’ nightmare,” said Kelly. “We understand that. This is what makes this case so horrific.”
Kelly said Aron and the boy did not previously know each other.
Cops said Aron, who works as a clerk at the Empire State Supply Co. hardware store on McDonald Avenue in Kensington, allegedly suffocated the boy before chopping him up. Kelly said they also found three knives in a butcher block inside Aron’s apartment.
