Rashida Jones will join Amy Poehler and Aziz Ansari on the new NBC comedy that’s almost definitely not a spin-off of The Office. Rumors about Office alum Jones have been swirling around the project for months, but the casting has finally been confirmed by the network. She will reportedly play a nurse whose boyfriend has a strange injury that leads her character to bump into Poehler and Ansari.

Production on the series, which is being exec-produced by The Office‘s Greg Daniels and Michael Schur, is expected to begin in January. And despite speculation that the comedy might be pushed back to next fall, the network insists the series will be ready for a spring premiere. Let’s hope so, because NBC sure doesn’t have much else going for them this season.
