I had a horse in the race when the Dow went into freefall in 2008. I just couldn’t sleep at night because I had a lot of money on the table. So I would get up in the middle of the night and watch my stocks. Finally, had enough and sold out all my positions. I warned a few folks too that the market was about to go into freefall.
How did I know? I am not sure. But boy was I right. Some of those stocks have never recovered especially some of the tech stocks on the Nasdaq. I had lots of tech stocks and some bank stocks that went to zero.
One in particular was bought up by JPMorgan and I 10 shares based on the amount I lost and the JPM hit 50.00 and I sold that shit before you could say JPM. That stock has never returned to 50 but is close now. When it was down to 25 I should have bought a boatload because it also pays a dividend.
My new tack is that I buy a little bit of everything and my present positions I can hold for a year or more because I don’t have the same amout of money on the table. And it seemed that the dump in May plan was in place but hell nobody told me.
So there I was in California and the freefall in the banking began. The stock I owned in that bank went to nothing, forgot the name but like I said JPM bought it and I got 500 dollars for what I am sure I did not spend on the defunct stock.
I like bank and tech stocks. Call me crazy. I have BIDU stock now and I recall when it was worth 300/share. I should have bought it when I saw it for 100 but I have a few shares and hopefully they will grow. There is still lots of room for the Dow to zoom higher to 1400 eventually.

In the new book, You Don’t Know, Williams recalls the incident, which she says occurred when she was visiting family friends in California and the family’s 18-year-old daughter came into her room one night.
“[She] pulled down the bloomers of my cotton baby-doll pajamas,” Williams writes. “‘What are you doing?’ I asked. ‘Don’t worry—it’ll feel good.’ I lay there paralyzed. What was going on? I didn’t speak. She kept at [the molestation] for I don’t know how long. She slid my bloomers back up and whispered: ‘Don’t tell anyone.'”

http://www.alifewortheating.com/france/paul-bocuse I have spent time in Paris but did not eat at any french restaurants because I was vegan at the time and finding something like that in Paris was not possible then. I knew the name Bocuse and thought I would google it and see what it costs to buy a dinner package for two. It started at about 500,000 and went up to a cool million for the deluxe dinner package. Yes, a million dollars to eat dinner at Bocuse. I wonder if the Romneys ever ate there.

What came next was the highlight of the meal, rouget barbet en écailles de pommes de terre croustillantes, a thin filet of red mullet covered in potato scales. This course reminded me that butter does not equal bad. Butter gets a bad rap for its high cholesterol, saturated fats, and ubiquitous presence in French food. I would almost say that I’ve developed a sensitivity to butter from having lived in the US, a direct result of movements like California cuisine that de-emphasize butter usage and promote heart-healthy eating. But what Bocuse showed me was that butter, when used properly, is one of the best ways to strengthen and support a fish’s natural flavor. Bocuse uses butter not for the sake of it, not because it’s popular in French food, and not because he’s a rebel. Rather he uses it deliberately because, quite simply, it tastes the best. Here it’s presence was felt in both the crispy potato “scales” and the sauces pooling below the fish. The moist filet protected by its two skins stayed interesting with each bite until the very end, particularly because I could choose different combinations from the olive-leaf shaped combination of sauces below. This was delicious.

Andrew was controversial and loved it.
He was adopted by wealthy Jewish parents and at one point lived in Venice Italy where he met his wife. They returned to the states and were penniless for a while and then he started writing for Drudge Report for no salary. They thought he had talent. As said before he also helped to build Huffington Post when it was a startup.
He was walking home near his Brentwood home when he collapsed. His neighbors saw him collapse and called 911. He was taken to UCLA Medical Center where MJ was taken and pronounced dead.
He died of a massive heart attack. Andrew had heart problems in the past. I read that he was not into the lib healthy diet and exercise propaganda but believed in eating, drinking and getting merry on his wealth.
So long Andrew. He was 43.

Now that the star of A Better Life Mexican actor Demian Bichir has been given the Oscar nod for best actor people want to know who he is. All because they probably did not see the film in the first place. I just rented it from Netflix last week.
It is about a man and his son, the dad is illegal and the son is an anchor baby. It opens with Demian going to work in a truck with his Mexican boss who works for the rich gringos in California trimming their large palm trees. Demian’s boss keeps pushing him to buy the truck and start his own business and to make a better life for himself. Demian resists because he does not have a legal license and fears he will be caught and jailed because of it.
He was right about that. He asks his sister for the 10K that his boss wants for the truck and all the tools as well. Sounds like a good deal. So with the money he buys the truck and goes to a local spot where he once stood to pick up a Mexican illegal to work for him now.
He choses an older man who looks trustworthy. But when Demian goes up the tree and leaves his keys on the ground you know what that old man did? Santiago grabs the keys and runs for the truck and drives off just as Demian manages to get down from the tree to catch him.
The rest of the film is about him and his son tracking down Santiago and the truck. I won’t spoil the ending for you if you have not seen it. It’s well acted and poignant. I guess the Hollywood libs want us to bleed for the poor illegals yet again.

Oakland, California (CNN) — Authorities used tear gas early Thursday on anti-Wall Street protesters who defied orders to disperse after earlier shutting down the Port of Oakland, California, police said.
A crowd of several hundred people threw rocks and shot fireworks at officers after being asked to leave the scene, prompting officers to fire tear gas, authorities said.
After the port protest, Occupy Oakland demonstrators returned to a city park and nearby streets, where the violence broke out.
Hazy video from the scene, posted on the Internet, showed a fire burning and fireworks exploding as at least one protester threw objects.
I saw this movie “Like Crazy” with the new Jewish idol who plays the boyfriend turned husband at the Modern film fest. It was okay. I liked it a lot. It’s another movie with a strange ending and you don’t know what happened. But the two in the film get busy. She’s from London and he’s from Santa Monica. They get busy but it is not in your face. They do it in LA and in London and think they can’t live without each other until they do and until they get married to each other.
He cheats like a big greasy dog on her and she cheats on his with her neighbor and they even get engaged. What is the use of saying you love someone and then fucking someone else’s brains out? That’s what this movie is about in a few words but only they keep the explicit sex off the screen. The music was absolutely fabulous though.
Rick and Romney went at it on illegal immigration tonight. Rick attacked Romney on his illegal lawn care hires and then Mitt hit back with telling Rick to let me finish because they were talking over each other for seconds and Rick was getting really mad.
They both argued and at least three times Mitt was attacked by his other debaters. Santorum attacked Mitt on his health care in Mass and then Mitt attacked Rick on his magnet of tuition for illegals. Then the fact that Texas has more illegals coming into the state than any other state such as Florida and California. They all came to Texas because it is really easy here for them.
What about Cain’s plan to build a fence that will electrocute illegals who touch it? He said he was kidding but I think he was on to something along the lines of a moat with alligators. That will keep em out or will they make alligator tacos?
Michelle said that she will enforce English as the official language of the country. We have no official language in this country. Can you believe that?
Do we love legal immigrants? I don’t think so. The audience applauded but do they really mean it? Turn off the magnets like tuition brakes and not checking on illegals with e verify which they do not do. Employers don’t give a crap about who is here. Mitt said that illegals are up 60% in the past ten years. Hell yes, you can see it clearly here.
People are booing when Rick brought up Mitt’s illegals…again. A Mexican asked what they were going to do to get latino vote and that they are not all illegals. But if you dig deeply you will see that for every legal immigrant or born here Mexican that family has at least one illegal in their life as a relative or close friend that they are in turn helping.
Are the laws anti latino or are they anti illegal? We have laws that say we must educate the illegals along with regular kids. and if you have been in any public school here lately where it is over 50% mexican you won’t see too many white kids unless the school is in an all white enclave.
Huntsman was not in the debate.
